SCHOOL HISTORY
Rosary High School was founded in September 1965 under the auspices of the Archdiocese of Los Angeles and administered by the Sisters of St. Joseph of Orange to provide greater opportunity for girls residing in the central and northeastern portions of Orange County to attend Catholic secondary school. In 1976, the Diocese of Orange was established, and Rosary came under the jurisdiction of the Roman Catholic Bishop of Orange. Rosary is also under the supervision of the Vicar of Faith Formation/Superintendent of Catholic Schools.
In 2015, Rosary High School became Rosary Academy to allow the community to appreciate and honor the history of the school while embracing the future. The name also allowed the Diocese of Orange to change the governance model.
Parallel to the name change, the 7 benefits were identified to share the journey of a Rosary Royal. The benefits are:
She is authentic
She embraces her faith
She finds her voice
She leads
She is fearless
She inspires
She makes a difference

The 7 benefits were used during the school’s 50th anniversary celebration and special communications.
THE CREST
Rosary’s crest presents the school’s philosophy in visual form. The sun symbolizes growth— spiritual, intellectual, emotional, and physical. The open hand characterizes a student’s eagerness to receive knowledge and educate her community. The cross is the traditional symbol of Christ and the letter “M” is symbolic of Mary which is superimposed on the cross to signify that the pattern of our life is a journey towards Christ through Mary, the patroness of Rosary.
