Remediation classes meet twice a week for 2 hours.  Approximately 1 week of material is covered each calendar day during Summer School. Students should expect to spend approximately 4 hours each day, if not more, on the course material at home to keep up.

Current students are required to remediate all failing grades in order to graduate. Students who have received a "D" are encouraged to remediate this grade. Students are only permitted to remediate "D" and "F" grades.

*Students who have multiple grades that need to be remediated per session should consult their counselor to discuss remediation options.

Cost: $450 per semester course

Rosary Academy offers courses designed to advance in the summer to reach a higher-level course during the school year. 

 Teacher and counselor approval are required to enroll. Summer classes are not part of the 7 semester GPA for Valedictorian and salutatorian decision.

Prerequisite: B or higher in Honors Algebra II; Teacher and counselor approval. 

This course replicates the content of Geometry, but concepts are studied in greater depth at an accelerated pace, with a greater emphasis on geometric proofs, triangle trigonometry and constructions. Reflections and other transformations will be studied. UC Approved. MUST TAKE BOTH SESSIONS.

MUST HAVE COUNSELOR AND TEACHER APPROVAL 

This course is open to Rosary Academy students and incoming freshmen who are not participating in an after-school sport to complete their P.E. graduation requirement. This class involves two different types of fitness activities. The sessions will alternate between walking and interval training. STEP will include walking for fitness usually 3 ½ to 5 miles per hour. The walking will be at a brisk pace in order to get a cardiovascular endurance benefit. HIIT stands for High Intensity Interval Training. HIIT workouts generally combine short bursts of high intensity exercise with periods of rest or lower-intensity exercise. The class is designed to introduce the student to activities that can help increase metabolism, improve oxygen consumption, gain strength, reduce heart rate, positively affect blood pressure, and sugar.

MUST HAVE COUNSELOR AND TEACHER APPROVAL 

This interdisciplinary course empowers students to make informed decisions about their physical, mental, emotional, social, and digital health. Students will explore traditional health topics such as nutrition, fitness, mental health, substance abuse, and disease prevention. They will also engage in physical activities, fitness assessments, and develop personal fitness plans. A unique feature of this course is its integration of digital wellness, including social media literacy, healthy cell phone habits, and the impact of technology on mental health and relationships. Through reflective writing, group projects, and multimedia resources, students will build resilience, self-awareness, and lifelong wellness habits. 

This course is a graduation requirement and is recommended for incoming Freshmen who will be taking AP Human Geography. MUST TAKE BOTH SESSIONS.

The class will preview actual 9th grade curriculum taken at Rosary Academy. The Pre-Algebra class covers beginning concepts that will help prepare you for Algebra 1. The Language arts class will cover the summer reading and techniques required to be an effective writer. The learning strategies class is designed to improve executive functioning skills necessary for success and how to manage the schedule of a busy high school student. A student may choose to take one, two, or all three courses in one session. All course materials will be provided.  

Open to incoming 9th grade students. 

Cost: One class $375, Two classes $550, Three classes $700

The courses run Monday-Thursday. Daily attendance is required over the 3-week session.
