In January of 2021, the Rosary Academy Social Studies Department will sponsor a school-wide trip to Washington DC to witness the 2021 Presidential Inauguration. This trip, formerly open to seniors only, will be open to all students.
The Presidential Inauguration trip is organized and managed by Close-Up, a not-for-profit educational travel organization that has been developing these excursions since 1971, is dedicated to non-partisan civic education and inspiring students to become life-long active participants in our democracy.
While in Washington, Rosary students will have the opportunity to live and learn with peers fro across the country while engaging in seminars with political policymakers. They will explore historical sites and visit with government officials over six days. Highlight of this trip include
- Discussions of key domestic and international issues with members of Congress and their staff, Washington insiders, and other leading policy experts
- Comprehensive study visits to the significant historical sites and cultural neighborhoods of our nation’s capital
- Daily small-group workshops that encourage students to connect what they see in DC with what they are learning in the classroom back home
- Self-directed time with their teachers to explore the nation’s capital
To learn more about this trip, please attend an on-campus informational session the evening of Wednesday, February 26 (6 pm, assembly hall). A representative from Close-Up and the Social Studies Department will be available to answer your questions. Please contact Mr. Chavez (email@example.com) if you would like more information.
