Rosary junior Ayah Mohamed wins Dragon Kim Fellowship

We are proud to announce that Ayah Mohamed '22 has been named a Fellow in the 2021 Cohort of the Dragon Kim Foundation, and has earned $5,000 to launch a community service project over the summer. Along with funding, she has earned 3 weekends of leadership training, and mentorship from a business professional.

Ayah and her friend Rylen Schmid from Orange Lutheran High School won the fellowship with their proposal to expand Project STYLED (Sustainably Teaching Youth a Lifestyle of Ethical Design.) Their project aims to reach 4th -8th graders to teach the importance of choosing ethically produced sustainable clothing. Ayah's vision includes hosting a 4-day seminar with guest speakers, conversations, creations, and service projects. Currently working on an interactive website, Ayah and Rylen also plan to create blog posts, interviews with fashion industry leaders, and information on how an individual can shop sustainably.

When asked how she heard about the Dragon Kim Foundation, she said a friend who was selected in last year's cohort recommended she apply for this year. She was excited that her project was selected, and encourages her fellow Royals to apply for next year. Learn more about the Foundation here. Follow Ayah's journey on Instagram @projectstyled.

Congratulations, Ayah, and thank you to the Dragon Kim Foundation for their work!
