Senior Isabella Fuentes Commits to UCSB

Congratulations to Isabella Fuentes on her commitment to UC Santa Barbara to continue her softball career as a Gaucho!
Location was an attractive quality, and the ability to be closer to home for her family to come see her games was a selling point. (Oh, and we can't forget the beach!) She also could not pass up the opportunity to receive a UC education while playing at the NCAA Division 1 level.
When asked about her parents' thoughts she said, "They want the best for me, and they want me to be happy where I am at, so going to my dream school was so important to them."
She aspired to continue excelling in softball, meeting new people, and landing a job that she can really enjoy.
Isabella has been inspired by her mom, who has been there since the beginning of her journey. Fuentes is motivated by making her mom proud: "She [her mom] was also a collegiate softball player and I want to continue in her shoes."

Another driving force for Isabella is her brother: who is currently playing professional baseball for the Grand Junctions Rockies. "He has accomplished his dream and I look up to him. He helps me by practicing with me and correcting all my mistakes in my game of softball. He is one of my biggest critics, but it has helped so much."
Bella says, "I am so excited of this opportunity. It is truly a blessing to go to my dream school and even play the sport I love there at the D1 level. My family, coaches, and teammates have been a big help to this accomplish. I also wanted to thank Coach Tice for all the help he has given me. I truly could not have done it without him. He has been my coach since freshman year, and he has helped me grow into a strong softball player. "
Rosary Softball Coach and AD Tom Tice Jr says of her,  "Bella has been a key team member in the resurgence of Rosary softball. She's an amazing clutch hitter, and she leads the infield with her voice, and decision making. Everyone who plays with Bella is inspired by her drive and her desire to improve."
