Sarah Kramer '13 named Ivy League Rookie of the Week

PRINCETON, N.J. – Cornell freshman volleyball player Sarah Kramer has been named the Ivy League Rookie of the Week, as was announced this afternoon by the conference office. It is the first Ivy accolade for Kramer, who shared the award with Emily Astarita (Dartmouth), and she becomes the first Big Red volleyball player to be named Rookie of the Week since Rachel D'Epagnier on Oct. 5, 2010.

Kramer was instrumental in helping Cornell to its first season-sweep of Columbia since the 2008 season, finishing the five-set match with 14 kills and just three errors on 30 attempts for a blistering .367 hitting percentage. She also finished with nine digs, two blocks, and on service ace.

A native of San Dimas, Calif., Kramer now ranks second on the team with 2.18 kills per set.
