Farmers Insurance Awards Rosary "Thank A Million Teacher" grants

Rosary High School is proud to announce the awarding of two grants from Farmers Insurance to two of our most deserving teachers.

Mrs. Margie Bangs and Mrs. Josephine Golcher were both awarded $2,500 to fund their science and math related proposals. The nationwide contest to "Thank A Million Teachers" recognizes those who have a positive impact on students and communities across the United States.

Mrs. Bangs will use the grant money to purchase the latest mathematical software and desktop computers that will help students visualize important mathematical concepts. "As we encourage girls in science, engineering, technology, and mathematics (STEM) fields and expand our STEM offerings, every student in our school will benefit."

Mrs. Golcher will purchase Lego Mindstorm Robotic kits to teach robotics. Students will work in co-operative groups to make complete programmable robots, and will become familiar with practical engineering considerations.

Thank you for voting for these exciting new programs at Rosary High School!
