What advantage or value(s) did you gain by attending an all-girls school?
I loved attending Rosary. I absolutely loved going to an all-girls school. I could go to school with no makeup on, not trying to impress anyone. I’m also a shy person, having the smaller classes were especially great for me. It helped bring me out of my shell and it was easier to participate fully in class since there was more one on one attention from the teachers. I also loved Red and Gold. I’m pretty sure it was the major reason I wanted to attend Rosary. It was such a fun and unique experience that I am truly grateful for.

What is an important lesson you learned after high school?
I learned after high school that you don’t have to have it all figured out in high school. It’s ok not to know what you want to do with your entire life at 16. All of the things that seemed like they were major things in high school were actually not a big deal at all in the grand scheme of your whole life. I also learned that you should take chances and enjoy this time of your life. I’m now friends with girls from my graduating class whom I reconnected with on social media, girls that were more popular and outgoing than me. I’ve since come to find out that they were all having the same doubts and issues that I was having while in high school. We all felt about the same and didn’t know it. It would have been nice to have had their friendships all of these years but I’m certainly grateful for them now.

What piece of advice or inspiration would you give to a Royal?
The piece of advice I would give a Royal is just be you. God made only one you and trying to be someone or something you aren’t isn’t going to work. God wants you to just be you. Take confidence that you are unique and special. As I get older I care less and less about what others think and say about me. I try to live a good life and be a good person. I try to teach by example and lead my life in kindness and love. That’s all that really matters.

What do you do now?
I love my career!  I am currently a celebrity Makeup Artist working in television and new business owner. My company Cat Eyes By Raquel launched December 2018 after seven years in development.  Cat Eyes By Raquel is a makeup tool that helps you achieve the perfect winged eyeliner in seconds easily and perfectly every time!  Royals can use the special code: Princess Jasmine at checkout to get $3 off your order. Any Rosary Royal who shares and tags via social media will get a free something extra from me!

What is something that you love about your job?
I love being an entrepreneur because it’s a whole new world to me. I love helping people look and feel good about themselves through makeup. I love the new challenges starting a business and designing a product from scratch entails.  I love meeting all kinds of people through my work. I love traveling for work and seeing the world.

What are some of your accomplishments? Of those what are you most proud of?
When I first started my career as a makeup artist my dream was to work on prime time TV shows and I have!  I wanted to work with fun people and travel the world, a week in Greece with Ashlan Gorse for E! News or the Toronto Film Festival for example. I’ve worked many Oscars, Emmys, Grammys and Golden Globes but what I am most proud of is launching my Cat Eyes By Raquel business. I designed and patented the product and have finally brought it to market.  It’s a huge accomplishment in itself and I’m so very proud. I’m also proud to call myself an inventor, businesswoman, artist and friend
