Beach Volleyball

Coach Niloofar was born in Shiraz, Iran, and was raised in Tehran, where she began her journey as an athlete in the High Jump when she was nine years of age. By the age of 14, Niloofar was the youngest athlete in the history of Iran Track & Field to make it to the Iran National Track & Field Team. She was among the top 5 high jump athletes in the Asian Indoor Athletics Championships and No. 2 in the Middle East by age 15.

Niloofar started playing volleyball when she was 17, competing at the Women’s Premier League for over eight years as a middle blocker and opposite hitter.

At the age of 18, Niloofar immigrated to the United States with her entire family. She eventually went back to Iran because of her previous athletic obligations and commitments. It didn’t take long for Niloofar to get invited to Iran’s National Volleyball Team by the time she was 19, where she played for two years.

In 2014, Niloofar came back to the United States, and began her career as a certified volleyball official in Southern California with SCVA in 2017. She continues to officiate volleyball for clubs, high schools, and at the collegiate level. In the summer of 2021, Niloofar received her Junior National Certificate from USA Volleyball, giving her the opportunity to officiate in D1 conferences like the PAC-12 and Big West. She is also a Zonal Beach Volleyball Official.

Niloofar has been coaching for the last ten years. She began coaching here in the U.S. in 2018, working with 13s, 14s, 15, and 18s at ProPlay Volleyball club (14s and under as head coach and 15 and above as assistant coach). She has helped run and create clinics and summer camps at ProPlay. Niloofar has been at Rosary Academy since 2020, working as the JV head coach and as a varsity assistant coach. She currently heads the program along with our Rosary Beach Volleyball Team.
